Frankie is one of the legends of the British music scene, with a powerful voice that has drawn numerous comparisons. His distinctive voice and song writing ability have earned him the respect of his peers and that is reflected in the number of world renowned artists, including Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker, Etta James, Cher, The Everly Brothers and Ray Charles, who have covered his songs. Frankie was born on 2nd November 1949 in the east end of Glasgow, and first became aware of the power of Rock and R&B through his mothers record collection. Frankie recorded nine chart albums for the Chrysalis and Mercury labels between 1972 and 1986 and had hit singles with "Be Good To Yourself" and "Darlin". |

Sadly in 1994 Frankie suffered a brain hemorrhage which left him without speech and cruelly bringing to an end his recording and performing career. Now, twenty years on from the release of his last studio album, we are proud to bring you Frankie Miller's brand new album release. This album of previously unreleased material was recorded in the 1990's and showcases Frankie's legendary vocal talents as well as focusing on Frankie the songwriter. It cuts a path from acoustic ballads to out and out rockers via country and soul tinged tracks, encapsulating Frankie's wide variety of musical styles. Two numbers "You're The Star", and "Over The Line" have already been major hits for other artists: the former a 1995 hit single for Rod Stewart the latter being the title track for The Bellamy Bros smash hit album co written bu Oscar winning songwriter Will Jennings, ("theme from, Titanic", "Tears In Heaven", "The Crusaders"), plus three more unreleased songs from this collaboration. The songs feature appearances from, amongst others, Joe Walsh (The Eagles), Nicky Hopkins of The Jeff Beck Group and the Rolling Stones and Ian Wallace (King Crimson/Bob Dylan), who alongside Chrissie Stewart, made up the band Fire and Brimstone. The numbers included here from this line up include the much sought after "Guilty Of The Crime". Frankie the interpreter is highlighted on the albums' two cover versions, "He'll Have To Go" previously immortalised by country legend Jim Reeves, "The Rose" is a song made famous by Bette Midler in the film of the same name. From Bridgeton in Scotland via international success across America and Europe it's been "A Long Way Home" ... | |||||||||
